Thanks from Alice

I am very honored to have won the Business and Professional Women University of Louisville 1999 Outstanding Support Staff Award. Such an honor would not have been possible if it weren’t for the nomination of Debbie Hawley. Debbie took such care and time to write the nomination and for that I am so grateful and touched.

I feel as if this award is not only my own, but an award that also belongs to you—the members of the University Libraries. I could not do my job if it weren’t for the constant cooperation that I receive every day from the good folks of our library system.

I enjoy coming into work in the morning. I have a wonderful supervisor and superb co-workers. I am excited about the changes that have and will take place. Ms. Rader and her goals energize me. I don’t know how many people can say those things about the job they have or the people with whom they work. I do not expect that most people out in the world are this lucky.

I have been blessed with such an award and recognition, but the celebration is really OURS.
