• Steve Whiteside and David Tyler for assistance in gathering information and preparing the exhibit.
• To all Kersey Library student assistants who assisted with mounting the exhibit.
• Marcia for taking care of refreshments and for working on  Saturday to help with activities.

Performance appraisals are never easy to write, but we have some real pros among us. As I’ve read each and every staff evaluation over the past couple of weeks, I have been so impressed. Staff on the receiving end of some of these are lucky to have supervisors who take the time and trouble to provide insightful, useful comments, citing specific examples related to their performance. Among supervisors whose evaluations seem particularly well written and thus worthy of special thanks are Felix Garza, Karen Little, and Lois Severt.

I thank Jodi Duce for taking care of the payroll for all three units housed in LL35.  It’s a lot of work and she does a great job.

I’d like to thank Dave Loeffler for all his help assisting with Special Collections’ current exhibit Study Station and Intimate Views. Dave went the extra mile for us by checking and fixing all the intricate lighting. His efforts helped make the opening a great success.

Have you said thank you lately to someone within the libraries for a job well done? We need to let people know that we are talking about the day-to-day, helpful things that people do, not just big projects. Help us help you recognize the person's wonderful work by letting us know. "Dare to say Thank You" sponsored by the Libraries' Prize Patrol will appear monthly in The Owl. We will include everything that there is space for and if there isn't space, we will feature such items in the next issue.

Anyone can nominate a colleague, supervisor, or anyone else who has been discovered doing something well.

Please send your items to Alice Abbott-Moore (maabbo01@gwise.louisville.edu).
