Rusty Bill Carner, Special Collections, Ekstrom Library Rusty relaxing with a "bone". Rusty moved to the farm with us in 1993 after spending his first year with a neighbor in Irish Hill in the small space between two shotgun houses. The broad vistas and lush grass were confusing enough for him after the sensory deprivation tank atmosphere of his first home, but when the lawn came "alive" with grasshoppers he really freaked out and went catatonic. After 4 years Rusty is a real bauerhundt (farm dog) and takes everything in stride. (Photo by Janice Braverman.) |
