Taz (Taz Ray Brown, AQHA): look up "good horse" in the dictionary and you'll find Taz's picture. This 10-year-old black gelding is all quarter-horse: solid, dependable, and calm. He's been ridden in Civil War re-enactments, so nothing riles him up or scares him, not even cannon fire--although he has been known to stop and look a hose over real good before he steps over it (could be a snake, you never know). He's not the pencil-neck geek the wide angle lens makes him out to be in this photo. (Photo by Bill Carner.)
