More New Faces April Robertson: April Robertson began work on October 7th as Information Literacy Program Assistant. Prior to joining the Libraries, April worked as a secretary for the Early & Middle Childhood Education Department in the School of Education. Her main responsibilities are to coordinate and schedule all CLC classes and activities. She assists with promoting the I nformation Literacy Program by creating brochures, flyers, and web documents. She also assists instructors with their classes in the CLC. April is a nature lover and gets the opportunity to enjoy the scenery on her commute in each day from Vine Grove. She has a pet ferret and her own web consulting business. Michael Weinert: Michael (whose astrological sign is Cancer), the renaissance man, is a native Louisvillian who received his B.A. in Anthropology in '92. His interests are pre-industrial agricultural societies, books, historic preservation, ephemeral cultural materials, golf and swimming. He has done fieldwork in the Bluegrass and Appalachian regions of Kentucky, as well as at the Roman villa 'Torre de Palma' - directed by Dr. Stephanie Maloney of Art History. Recently he has been focusing on GIS, a relational database and farm tool typology of the western Roman provinces. He is interested in anthropological archaeology and the integration of field recovery methods to relational databases and web site technology, and he hopes to continue his study in the near future. He is currently exploring the world of technical services at Kersey, handling gift books, theses and processing acquisitions. Michael and his spouse, Heather, have a daughter named Ruby who will be three in July and has just completed her first swimming course. She's a Cancer also. |
