A pair of Percherons pull a K&K disk harrow, another implement designed specifically for market garden use. The Percheron comes from the Perche region of France. Percherons were the most popular breed of draft horse in the United States up until the time the tractor replaced horse on the farm around the time of World War II. Since the draft horse revival that began in the 1960's the Belgian has out-numbered the Percheron by a substantial margin.
